Lite brite in the Digital Age!

I've had various people message me and tell me they like the designs, or that they used one of my designs to make one of their own, but this takes it to a whole new level.

A gentleman by the name of Ralph Holzmann, a web designer, has created his very own interactive lite-brite 'game' of sorts where you can make your own lite brites!
He included one of my designs, as an example in his game.

He said he might include other designs of mine in a gallery, and he's constantly making updates to the game and working on making it even more realistic.

Ralph's site can be found HERE
Very cool stuff. Definitely worth checking out, and this inspires me to get crackin' on a new lite brite of my own!

Keep your eyes peeled for new posts :-D

EXCITE BRITE!

Here's my latest creation.

An Excite Bike Lite Brite!
(try saying THAT ten times fast!)

I really had to get creative with colors on this one, due to a limited amount of pegs, and all but it turned out really great, methinks.

So here you are:

And with the camera flash on:

And here's a source image, just so you can see what I was using as my main reference while I was creating the design. I tried to keep as many of the surrounding details as I could using the pegs that I had. Even the patterns of the lines on the road and the grass and rocks, etc...:

And remember, be sure to leave me a comment with your thoughts!
Comments are open to everyone, not just members, so tell me what you think, and remind me that I'm not crazy for continuing to do this! ;]
Thanks!

Megaman VS. Crashman!!!

I've been wanting to do a megaman 2 themed one for a while now...

It's ridiculously hard to create detailed characters with the limitations of lite brite, but here's a replica of the boss room in crash man's level from mega man 2 as best as I could do it justice in colored plastic pegs.

Also note that my camera majorly fucks up the colors when I take pictures of it! Something with the glare of the lite shining through makes everything look all washed out, but alas, without further ado, here it is!

And with the flash on:

Just payin' my respects to the greatest megaman game of all time :)

Much better than a stinky rotten potato on your front doorstep, yeah? ;]

(oh, and if anyone is looking at this going "what the hell, this has nothing to do with video games!!"

Pajitnov's Pride - you know what we call that? Motherfuckin' alliteration!

I can hardly think of a better game to transfer into Lite Brite than TETRIS!

Getting the shapes of the blocks was slightly difficult due to the irregularity of the hole arrangement, but it came out pretty damn sweet, if I do say so myself!

Go Long Block! gooooooooooo!!!!!

And with the lights:

Now I feel like playing tetris... >_<

How do you make the Triforce shine even brighter???...

... By turning it into a Lite Brite of course!
Here's my next classic game themed Lite Brite, which just so happens to be everyone's favorite green-clad hero, Link, holding the tri-force!

And with the lights on for a little different look at it.

Thanks to Mandy for the excellent idea! :3

OM NOM NOM NOM. PAC MAN design!

Pac Man and Lite Brite combined? Is there anything NOT to love??
I fugured PAC MAN would be the first quintessential old school game to immortalize in Lite Brite.

So here you have it:

After a little color correction via Photoshop for the full effect:

For some reason the colors come out all funky and completely different when I take a picture with the lights off and no flash... Still looks pretty cool, though :)

So here's how the it actually looks with the lights on and no flash.

I think it turned out pretty well!
